Purpose of Position:

The Business Systems Analyst works with members of the PHCS business units to elicit, organize and document business requirements to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables.

Essential Functions:
----------------------
Actively solicits, analyzes and negotiates customer requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables.

- Works independently on small, med and large-sized projects with low to medium complexity
- Manages multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships with all stakeholders including IST staff and business staff. Manages relationships with customers, project managers, and any/all levels of management.

- rovides customer satisfaction to both internal and external customers and strives to continuously improve service delivery according to Quality Management guidelines and principles.

- Supports customer in training efforts for end users and staff members. Conducts meetings with business stakeholders to actively solicit, analyze and negotiate customer requirements.

- Obtains signoff on business requirements.
- Develops business solution analysis, work request analysis and performs detailed systems analysis of business projects.

- Follows standard IST and Application Delivery practices and guidelines, including SDLC methodologies, project timesheet reporting, and documentation.

- Writes use cases for new application development.
- Working knowledge of common diagramming techniques such as Functional Decomposition, Entity Relationships, Data Flow, Activity Diagrams, etc.

- Solicits input from developers and other IST technical staff to determine project scope and provides estimate of level of effort (person days required to complete project)
  Responsibilities
 - Understanding of software development project life cycle.
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies a plus.
- General, up to date knowledge on current technologies and trends.
- Experience with use case analysis.
  Requirements
 Qualifications:
----------------

- 2-5 years of analysis and design on software development projects in analyst role.
- BS/BA Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience in the healthcare business area preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Business process modeling.
- Skilled in interactions with the business community.
- Good negotiation and presentation skills.
- Prior experience and knowledge of PHCS standard development tools and platforms desirable.
- Experience with documented software development methodology and understanding of all stages of project life cycle.
- Specific positions may require specialized knowledge or experience in some areas (e.g., data warehousing, data cleansing, data repositories, systems evaluation and implementation, etc.)
